Race Day Information

The race schedule is published one week before the regatta at which point you can see the time for your first race. All teams will race two heats and a final.

Understanding the Race Schedule

A race schedule shows the heat, race number, race time and teams.  We may run ahead, behind or to schedule.

Team Captains must:

  • Hand in their completed Team List/Waiver forms at the Team Captains' Meeting held at the Race Officials' tent prior to the first race of the day. The meeting time will be on the race schedule.
  • Make sure your team arrive one hour before their first heat and know where to meet
  • Listen to the announcements over the PA telling you when to be ready for marshalling for your race
  • Check at the Race Officials tent if you are unsure of which race we're up to
  • Have your team warming up approx. 45 minutes before your race.  The Race Marshalls will check that all paddlers present are shown on their Team List (no paddlers will be permitted on the water if they are not on the Team List).

How long will you be there?

Teams should plan to be available from early morning and may be able to leave around 3.30pm.

Security

It's recommended you do not leave valuables unattended so bring a cheer squad who can also look after your gear while you are on the water.

What to Wear and Bring

  • Sunscreen
  • Hat
  • Sunglasses
  • Dry clothes and a garbage bag for wet clothes
  • Folding chair

Team Tents

DARWIN - Team tents can be brought and erected at the venue.

SYDNEY-  Team tents (3m x 3m) can be hired and are placed along the Western Promenade at Darling Harbour. The Darling Harbour Authority requires they be hired from their approved supplier - teams may not bring their own tents for OH&S reasons. We can book a tent for you at cost - please arrange this with us no later than Friday 14 October.

Banners can be hung on the tents and information can be handed out, if passers-by request it, but no goods or raffle tickets may be sold.
